Smackdown on Crossfit

Published: Fri, 03/07/14

Crossfit. You've seen the games on TV and you probably a know
a few people that belong to a Crossfit Gym.

Here's the lowdown in my opinion.

What's Good About Crossfit:

1)  They use cool exercises, that are fun.

2)  The exercises are compound working multiple muscles groups.

3)  Training with a group provides a lot of motivation and support.

4)  It incorporates challenges and competition whether it's against
yourself or others.

5)  The workouts are time efficient combining cardio and strength
training into a single workout and even exercise.

6)  It's great for fat burning and improving your endurance and cardio.

Here's What Sucks About Crossfit In My Opinion:

1)  Some of the movements can be hard to learn and in a group
atmosphere some beginners might not get the attention they need to
master certain lifts.

2)  There are way too many random WODs or workouts of the day.
They are very challenging workouts but sometimes there's no rhyme
or reason to them.

For example...you don't want to do intense sprints or cardio prior
to lifting heavier weights.  Your technique will suffer and it can set
you up for an injury.

3)  There really are a lot of injuries with Crossfit.  Everything from
overuse injuries to bigger problems. They usually start kicking in
after a few months.

4)  If you're trying to gain muscle or strength..Crossfit at the amateur
level is still too endurance based and not great for packing on size
or strength.

5)  This one is the biggest.  THERE IS NO PERIODIZATION.

Athletes have known for decades to set their training up in phases
that focus on certain goals.

Crossfit does not do this.  It's really hard to progress.

I'm Going to Let the Cat Out Of The Bag

The top level guys that do well in the Crossfit Games you see on TV
for the big prize money do not train with Crossfit.

They use the same exercises, however they use periodization to
focus on different goals during each 12-week period.

You just can't get to a super high level by just doing random workouts
every day for years.  You have to have a plan!

My buddy Travis Stoetzel is a high level Crossfit Competitor and he
has created a modified Crossfit training program called the,
Unbreakable Badass Blueprint 2.0.

It takes all the good from Crossfit with none of the bad.

Go check it out right here.

You'll see that each component of the program is a phase that
focuses on specific fitness quality.

He just released it this week and it's on sale for Half Off.

Travis is legit.  I recently saw him in Miami for a business meeting
and he is strong as a mofo and ripped up with abs.

I highly trust his programming and can recommend his new program
to you with a full stamp of approval.

It does double in price at midnight though, so be sure to grab it if
this sounds like something that's right for you.  Learn more here...

Keep training hard,

PS - I would highly encourage you to check out what Travis is
calling "Crossfit on Steroids". It takes the best of what Crossfit
has to offer but gets rid of the bad so all you get is the GOOD!

Basically, if you want to burn TONS of fat, get strong, and be
ready for pretty much anything, you will NOT want to miss out on this...
