Spartan Race Pics

This Saturday Coach Chris, my friend David Bohmiller who
I used to work with at Boston Sports Clubs and a dude named
Brandon Dupont I hadn't met before all did the Spartan Race
at Raymond James Stadium.
Here we are afterwards. Mike, David, Chris and Brandon.
It was about 4-miles long. We ran up the ramps in the stadium,
jumped over walls, carried sandbags up and down what felt like
all the bleachers in the stadium and eventually made it down to
the field.
Here you had to throw a football into a barrel. You get one try
and if you miss..you owe 30-burpees.
I got mine so I could the 70-yard army crawl under barbed wire
without any delay.
Some other obstacles included throwing a spear into some hay,
carrying atlas stones, hoisting a 150 lb weight up a pulley, climbing
a wet rope, some farmers carries and more running.
Well our team finished 3rd place overall!
Why do we do it?
It keeps us athletic, it's great for team building. Having something like
this to train for also keeps me honest with my conditioning which I'm
not always a fan of.
Besides when else am I going to get a chance to run around on an
NFL football field?
NFL football field?
So those are all selfish reasons, but we also do these races as a
fundraiser to stand up 2 cancer.
The goal of our teammate David Bohmiller is to raise 5K by the
end of the year.
I personally just donated $100. If you want to help out at all
it would mean the world to "Boh" to help him reach his fundraising
goal.
It's a great cause and every little bit counts. There are over 200K
people that get these emails. Lets blow his goal out of the water!
Coach Chris pictured below would be super excited too!
Thanks for reading. There are some more pics from the race over
at our Facebook page.
Have a great Presidents Day! Oh and that reminds me....only 4-more
weeks until my wife's due date. It's a boy and we're naming him
Lincoln. So keep us in your prayers please for a healthy baby and
pregnancy.
Keep training hard,
Mike Westerdal
