The Underground POWER Skill

Published: Thu, 12/29/11

Most strength geeks are well aware of most of the power
keys I have been sharing with you this week.

It's well knows that strength and speed are the basic
components for power development.

But almost NO ONE ever addresses the little known skill
of motility.

In fact, I'm willing to bet that this may be the first time you
ever heard the term, motility.

Motility is defined as the ability to move spontaneously and
actively.  Basically to respond appropriately to any given
stimulus.

As humans we are born with exceptional motility, but as we
are conditioned by our parents, teaches and society to deny
and ultimately ignore our instincts or gut reactions... our
motility decreases.

This conditioning begins with our parents when they stop
us from crying, screaming or hitting when we feel the urge.

It continues in school when we are expected to sit still in a
classroom rather than run, jump and climb trees.

This lack of emotional discharge leads to muscular tension
as we "hold back" our instincts.

Over time this tension leads to faulty recruitment patterns,
poor flexibility in some muscles and weakness of others.

Ultimately, a person with low motility will have a low
capacity for power.

In Chris Barnard's Total Explosive Training system you will
learn several exercises that reintroduce many of dynamic
movements athletes may be lacking due to poor motility.

This topic is one that I find very fascinating and will be talking
to you about much more in the future... especially with regards
the "Psycho-Somatic Strength" elements.

In the meantime, if you are a coach, athlete or strength geek
looking to get more explosive and powerful... then take a quick
look at the video below.
